UJAS Business Intelligence

Give retail, finance, and planning teams a consistent view of sales, inventory, and performance across channels. UJAS brings reports, dashboards, and the Ask Alma AI assistant together around shared retail definitions, using data in the warehouse you own.

Go beyond reporting with demand forecasts, replenishment recommendations, and analysis of assortment and promotion performance, so your team can plan its next move with clearer context.

The reporting problem

When reports disagree, the decision waits.

Sales and inventory arrive at different levels of detail. Product codes change, calendars differ, and teams calculate the same performance measure in different ways. UJAS aligns those definitions beneath the reports so retail, finance, and planning teams can work from a consistent model.

What teams can answer

Answers for the decisions your team returns to every week.

UJAS connects retail data around consistent definitions, helping your team explore performance and move from questions to informed decisions.

Which channels are contributing to growth?

Compare sales and margin measures across marketplaces, national accounts, and stores using consistent product and calendar definitions.

Where is stock moving too slowly?

Review sell-through, inventory position, and weeks of supply by product and location to focus attention on excess stock or emerging shortages.

Where are actuals moving away from plan?

Compare performance with the relevant plan or forecast version and investigate differences before adjusting receipts or replenishment.

Is the assortment earning its space?

Review sales velocity, margin, and inventory pressure across products, stores, regions, and accounts to support assortment decisions.

Did the promotion support profitable growth?

Review lift against a defined baseline alongside markdown cost and margin. Investigate related-product effects and sales brought forward from later periods.

Which customer groups need attention?

Compare customer groups by how recently they purchased, how often they return, and how much they spend. Use shared segment definitions to inform retention priorities.

Retail BI capabilities

Support forecasting, assortment, and inventory planning.

Turn retail data into practical planning and analysis, from understanding demand and customer behavior to evaluating inventory and promotion decisions.

Demand forecasting

Generate UJAS demand forecasts from sales history and configured planning inputs, or review forecasts supplied by your partners. Compare forecast ranges, accuracy, and bias as actual demand becomes available.

Product assortment

Compare product performance to inform decisions about space, range, and where to test assortment changes.

Promotion performance

Measure lift, timing, markdown impact, and post-promotion behavior across products, accounts, and channels.

Inventory and replenishment

Review stock coverage and suggested order quantities using demand, available stock, incoming supply, and agreed ordering rules. Recommendations support planner review; they do not place purchase orders.

Basket analysis

Explore which products customers buy together, understand basket patterns, and identify opportunities for cross-selling.

Customer segmentation

Group customers by purchase recency, frequency, and value using business-defined segment rules. Compare purchasing patterns to inform customer engagement priorities.

Self-service on governed definitions

Filter and export governed reports, adapt a template, or assemble your own views in UJAS Studio. Shared definitions and permissions follow the data into each authorized view.

Ask Alma

Ask the governed model in plain English.

Ask Alma is UJAS's built-in analytics assistant. Ask questions in everyday language and explore your retail data through answers, charts, and tables grounded in the same definitions and permissions as your reports.

Ask Alma respects user permissions and makes the scope of its answers clear. Authorized question context and query results are processed by the AI provider.

Governance follows the question

  • Answers use registered metrics and permitted data domains.
  • The assistant requests governed queries without writing executable SQL.
  • Figures come from query results, with the period and scope made clear.
  • Unavailable values and result limits remain visible.

Ask a question such as "How did sales change last week?" and explore the answer with its reporting period, measures, and business context clearly identified.

How it is built

A governed model on the warehouse you own.

Warehouse-native

Your storage and warehouse remain the foundation for source and modeled data. We confirm platform compatibility, access, and data readiness with your team before rollout.

Governed by design

Shared product, location, account, and calendar definitions keep reports aligned. Inventory balances use a defined snapshot date, and ratios are calculated from the appropriate totals.

BI-ready

UJAS Studio provides reporting and analysis on the governed model. Published datasets can also support tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or Superset within your existing environment.

Managed by VeriVal

VeriVal manages the model code, deployment, schedules, monitoring, and upgrades within the agreed scope. You own the warehouse data and control access to it.

Common questions

What to know as you consider UJAS.

What is UJAS Business Intelligence?

UJAS Business Intelligence brings retail data, reporting, and planning together around consistent business definitions. It connects point-of-sale, inventory, product, location, account, customer, and planning data in your warehouse, so teams can investigate performance without rebuilding the same calculations in separate reports.

How is it different from a BI dashboard?

UJAS combines a governed retail model with dashboards, a report library, and self-service analysis in UJAS Studio. Shared definitions for products, locations, calendars, and measures keep those views consistent. The same modeled datasets can also support your existing BI tools.

What comes ready to use?

The catalog includes 7+ dashboards and 50+ governed report views. Views use connected sources, validated data contracts, and user permissions. Teams can adapt templates or build authorized views using the same business definitions.

Which data does it cover?

POS, inventory, product, location, customer, planning, forecast, and marketing signals across marketplaces, national accounts, ecommerce, and social commerce. Source data may arrive through an API or agreed file exports, including retailer portal downloads. Each source is mapped and validated for the domains in scope; a listed channel does not imply a ready-made connector for every provider.

Where does it run?

On the warehouse you already own. UJAS has a BigQuery-first foundation and runner profiles for BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, and Azure SQL. Warehouse builds, permissions, and the Studio data contract must be validated for each deployment before activation.

How does Ask Alma use our data?

Ask Alma is UJAS's built-in analytics assistant. It requests approved queries through the governed layer, with the same data permissions as the signed-in user. The assistant does not write executable SQL or receive warehouse credentials. Authorized question context and query results are processed by the AI provider to generate answers.

What happens when data is missing?

Unavailable values remain unavailable rather than appearing as zero. Reports and assistant answers should make relevant gaps and result limits visible. Capabilities that depend on missing or unvalidated sources remain unavailable until those prerequisites are met.

How does it relate to Skynar?

UJAS Business Intelligence models POS, inventory, product, location, account, and planning data across channels and accounts. Skynar applies the same warehouse-native, governed approach more deeply to Amazon Marketplace commerce signals, recommendations, and decisions. Together they cover retail business intelligence and commerce intelligence on data you own.

Does UJAS create forecasts and replenishment recommendations?

Yes. When enabled, UJAS generates demand forecasts from sales history and configured planning inputs, with forecast ranges and accuracy measures. Replenishment recommendations combine the forecast with a matching inventory snapshot, incoming supply, lead times, safety-stock policies, and order constraints such as minimum quantities or case packs. Your planners review the suggested quantities; UJAS does not place purchase orders. We validate the inputs, policies, and results for your deployment before enabling these capabilities.

What can our technical team evaluate?

UJAS uses dbt transformations to publish a governed star schema and semantic marts in your warehouse. UJAS Studio queries those datasets through a semantic layer that controls metric formulas, levels of detail, filters, and access. Inventory balances use a defined snapshot date, and ratio metrics use the appropriate aggregate inputs rather than averages of ratios. Deployment review covers source contracts, model tests, data freshness, read-only query access, and warehouse-specific validation. Customer segmentation uses configurable recency, frequency, and monetary-value rules; it is not an unrestricted audience-export tool.
